A. Parent and Community Involvement and Outreach: The school executive designs structures and processes which result in parent and community engagement, support and ownership for the school.
This year, I led the planning, preparation, and execution of the main family events at Henderson Collegiate, and empowered Grade Level Chairs to carry out grade level-specific items to bring each event to fruition. Below are snapshot descriptions of each event:
B. Federal, State and District Mandates: The school executive Designs executive protocols and processes in order to comply with federal, state and district mandates.
In order to stay compliant with mandates, I met with the Director of Operations once a week to make sure that we were compliant with the safety drills needed, like fire drills, tornado drills, and lockdown drills. After scheduling the events, the DOO and I collaborated on when/how the staff would be trained to best facilitate the drill.
The button below shows an example of the tracker we used to monitor when these needed to occur.
This year, I led the planning, preparation, and execution of the main family events at Henderson Collegiate, and empowered Grade Level Chairs to carry out grade level-specific items to bring each event to fruition. Below are snapshot descriptions of each event:
- Full Pride Night: Whole grade level comes together for a potluck dinner after Quarter 1 to celebrate the support families have provided.
- Parent Pride Night: Whole school comes together for a performance dedicated to the families for all they've done so far in the year. Linked are the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade performances.
- Bring a Parent To School Week: Family members attend classes with students to see what it is like as an HC student
- Parent Conferences: We templates to drive data-based conferences each quarter to inform families on student progress each quarter of the year to ensure their student has a continuous action plan to increase the next grade level readiness.
- Pride Post: Weekly Communication between the school and families to keep them up to date on important school information. The front of the Pride Post is school-wide, and the back of the Pride Post is Grade-Level Specific updates/highlights/shoutouts and information.
